We sing a wide selection of music from many countries and genres, with lots of opportunities to perform at interesting venues and events throughout the year.
One thing that really sets us apart: in 2012 we decided to perform without sheet music wherever possible. While this can be a challenge at first, it's transformed our sound and unity as a choir. It makes us more responsive, more together, and creates a unique connection with our audiences.
We welcome singers of all experience levels. While we often begin learning from sheet music in rehearsals, we work to ensure everyone – from complete beginners to experienced musicians – can achieve their best.
The choir is split into four vocal parts: Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass (SATB).
Not sure which part suits your voice? Don't worry! Just have a seat and join in the warm-up. Nicki is always happy to help you find where you're most comfortable singing. Guest copies of music scores are available.
We're especially keen to welcome tenor and bass singers to help balance our sections.
Your first two rehearsals are completely free, giving you the chance to see if the choir is right for you. Our subscription rates per term (approximately 13 weeks):
Waged - £65.00
Unwaged/Part-time/Retired - £45.00
Students - £20.00
Spring term: Tuesday 14th April to Tuesday 21st July
At your first visit, a committee member will welcome you, show you where to sit, and introduce you to members of your section. We'll make sure you feel comfortable and know what's happening.
We have a tea break during rehearsals. A hot drink and piece of cake are available at 50p each. Please bring your own cup.
